Tips and tricks for finding the right sized work shoes

Comfortable work shoes are a must regardless of what industry you're in. And while how your shoes feel is important, how well they keep you safe is the big, defining factor. Luckily, Shoes For Crews ensures that you get both comfort and safety. Slip-resistant shoes for men and women are often required by employers to increase workplace safety, meaning you may have the responsibility of picking out your own pair of safety shoes. While Shoes For Crews offers an excellent satisfaction guarantee with free returns if you choose the wrong fit, it's always nice to get it right the first time. Here are some tips and tricks to help you choose the nonslip shoes that fit perfectly.

Measure your feet properly
Your foot size may not have changed for several years, but believe it or not there are many things that can impact the size of your feet. Pregnancy, medical conditions and even just growing older can affect your foot size, so it never hurts to take a new measurement just to be on the safe side before buying new shoes.

The best time to measure your feet is when they're at their biggest, which is usually at the end of a long day (or shift). This is because your feet swell during the day as you're up and about. After a full day's work, sit down and measure your feet with a ruler or tape measure. You may find that one foot is bigger than the other (this is totally normal!), and if that's the case, go with the bigger measurement when you're selecting your shoe size. Converting inches to shoe sizes isn't a set formula, but you can find charts online that will help you figure out what size you need based on how long your feet are.

Take socks and inserts into account
Once you get your measurement, try on a pair of shoes that are a similar style to the work shoes you're buying (like slip-ons, sneakers or work boots). Put them on and assess their fit, making sure to account for socks and inserts. Wear the type of socks or hose that you normally wear on the job when you're trying the shoe on, and put your shoe inserts in if you wear them to work. If the fit is too snug, you may need a bigger size.

Try on your new shoes
Once you get your new nonslip shoes, try them on in a clean area, like a carpeted room. Check to make sure that the widest part of your foot fits comfortably into the widest part of the shoe. The length of the shoe should be about 3/8- to 1/2-inch longer than your longest toe when you're standing up. Wiggle your toes and walk around a little bit to decide whether they're comfortable. The shoes shouldn't feel too tight, and the heel shouldn't slide up or down when you walk.

Hopefully, you'll find a great fit! If not, the free exchange or E-Z return will have you covered!
