I've been buying shoes from SFC for 10 years and I'm never dissapointed! I've had three pairs of these and they are great. The first thing that always goes for me is the sole separating from the rest of the shoe after about 9 months, but some super glue will keep them going until the leather gives out. I'm going to try a different look this time but I don't hesitate to recommend the Steel Toe Defender to anyone who needs a good slip resistant shoe.

These defenders are AWESOME!I am purchasing my 3rd pair. The only comfort issue I have which is why I rated the comfortably a little lower is because it takes 2 weeks to break in the steel toe, but after that the are the most comfortable an reliable shoe I've ever had. Especially in a fast paced restaurant like mine where people step on your toes. I try to buy a new pair every year. THANK SFC! Your product ROCKS!

over all good shoe only problem is I needed to add a better insole and the outside wears out before the no slip bottom.I work around customers alot and the shoe looks less then professional as a result of this. This is my 2nd pair in about a year

This was the first purchase i have made with SFC and I have recommended them many times since. These shoes are super comfortable right out of the box. The steel toe is great. The only issue i have had with them is that I work in a very wet area of the store, and although they are water resistant, they are NOT waterproof, causing my feet get wet often (usually through the top laces). This causes the inside of the shoe to break down and become very uncomfortable after several months. Even so, these have lasted me 6 months compared to Walmart's Tred-safe shoe which lasts only 3. Will purchase from SFC again, making sure to buy a waterproof shoe this time.

These shoes are great for all around look, design, and comfort I can wear them to work and not have to worry if i have to end up on line cooking or in the dining room with guests they are a little rough on the feet at first, but once you break them in they are great, i wish i could find a dress shoe that was this comfortable :(

I've been wearing this "Steel Toe Defender" shoe ever since I bought it. I had a previous pair of the same type and I just love it. It looks great, feels great, and is very comfortable all the time. The Steel Toe is very helpful because I've had several heavy things fall on my foot, and it has proven very effective. I just love wearing this shoe everyday!

I love this shoe! Not only does it look great, it performs well also. I used to wear the same pair all the time, to social events and to work. The included insoles are alright; I replaced them with gel insoles to fatigue my feet less. The toe would get wore out after a year or more of very heavy use, but at that point I would buy another pair!

These shoes look great and they prevent slips on wet floors. Unfortunately, they're uncomfortable.

These shoes are very nice. The material is high-quality, and they feel like they're built to last. They also have a very nice insole, so I'm sure they'll be good for long shifts. I wish I had these when I worked at a movie theater.

Not always the easiest on my feet on short days, but nothing can beat them for those 12 hour days.
Very durable, minus the crack that formed in the outsole after 1 year.

I have owned the same pair of Defenders for 8 years. They are still comfortable and the slip-resistance still holds up great. Cannot believe how well these have held up. Would definitely recommend them.

I've had a pair of these for about one month. Amazing traction, I do not slip whatsoever now, even on floors with freshly spilled fryer oil.
However, I do have a couple issues with these shoes. The primary one being that the laces slip out of knots very, very easily. Kind of ironic given the outsole's performance. Please switch out your laces to a different type SFC!
The only other complaint would be that the padding could be a bit better. It is not poor by any means, but could be beefed up in the foot bed.
