First try DeWalt footear So far feels great!
Only had them for a few hours so far but can tell that they're going to be a great boot!! I'm DeWalt guy. But now I'm wearing their boots so friends might think I'm sipping a little bit too much of the Kool-Aid but I guess I can figure out where I can get the DeWalt tattoo now.. lol.

Shoes are narrow. Why order smaller?
If you have a wide foot? Stick with your correct size. These run narrow.
My true foot size is 11.5 EE. So off the shelf shoes, size 12 fit with a little extra toe space. As for SFC I have always ordered the stander size 12. I watch when they have male/ female sizing so to those run a little more narrow.
As for the DeWalt boot I'm pondering why they have order a 1/2 size smaller. I feel if I had ordered the size 12 I wouldn't have had to get a thinner insole. They are also a little narrow. The leather does stretch, takes a couple day to break in. Dropping to the 1/2 size as suggested, I feel took a great boot, down to if I need another pair I'll just order my normal sizing.
I would have exchanged them, but I had two dilemmas. The first one is: The shoe box is to big to fit in my commuter bicycles saddle bags to get to the shipping center. Secondly the first day I wore them I spilt oil on the left boot. I will not return item that I can't return in is original condition. They're just a little narrow so I just ordered a pair of thin Cork insoles which relieved a lot of the pinch.
Other then the issue mentioned. The boots are of good quality, nice leather upper. Outsole are of a good firm base. The original insole is a nice thick foam ( i used them in another pair of shoes). They are on the heavier side.
I'm not beholden to only black shoes were I work. As most restaurants require. So I look for soft toe boots. For ankle support and the outsoles are more solid.
Over 20 years on my feet in the restaurant industry I know what works for me. Solid base and ankle support plus that sure fire slip free soles from Shoes for Crew.
